Living Links Paper

Context:  The Living Links Paper is an assignment that was done under the instruction of Allen Bryant in the Spring 2008 semester.  To do this assignment, you had to interview someone about their life story and write it all out.  For this project, I interviewed my grandfather, Thomas Roberts, about his life.

Impact:  This is an assignment that I plan on having my students do in my own classroom one day.  This project didn't seem very important until I actually sat down with my grandfather, who I see almost every day, and actually listened to what life had been like for him in the Korean "conflict", what it was like to lose his brother, and how he became who he is today.  I heard stories that I had never heard before.  It is very beneficial for young people to learn about their elders before it is too late, and they make history fun.  There are so many things that all of these wonderful people are waiting to tell you, you just have to ask.

Alignment:
