Newsletter Rationale

Context: I used Microsoft Publisher 2003 to create a Newsletter that talks about myself entitled, "Meet Ms. Meghann".  In the first half of my newsletter I talk about my educational background, and what I am doing in the elementary school.  I give the dates that I will be in their class, and some of my favorite childhood books.  In the second half of my newsletter I tell more about my background of where I am from, my hobbies, and things that I am interested in.  I used Internet Explorer to retrieve a professional picture of myself, and then I obtained my childhood picture from my e-mail.

Impact: I hope that my students and my parents get a better understanding of who I am and what I am all about.   I want them to understand that I have their childrens' best interest at heart and that I want to formulate a strong bond between both the children and their parents because I know that having parents be an active part of my classroom is what it is all about.

Alignment:

*NETS-T V-C - Making this newsletter has increased my productivity by allowing me to use Microsoft Publisher so that I could make a quick newsletter that is full of information in a very short amount of time, and it allows me to communicate with my students' parents.

*NETS-T V-D - This newsletter opens up the lines of communication with my parents so that they know what is going on ahead of time.  These could be done all throughout the year to keep the teacher and the parents on the same page.

*NCDPI Standard 16, Indicator 3 - This newsletter is a great way to help the parents know what is going on within the classroom.  Effective teachers have open lines of communication at all times, and whenever teachers and parents have a realtionship, it also helps the students.
