Monday, March 5:  Course 6: Final Speech due tomorrow. Course 8: Peer review tomorrow. Final Speech due Wednesday.

Tuesday, March 6: COURSE 6:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkUg-SHbIDA.This is a documentary entitled, "The True Story of Che Guevara". Your goal is to view the documentary over the next 3 nights (about 30 minutes per night). For each night of viewing, write a one-paragraph organized response which focuses on an element from the film that you find noteworthy and discuss. Why are these parts important? What is your opinion on the information presented? What connections (literary, personal, world) can you make? All writing/viewing due Friday.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 11: Read to page 57. Please complete the following 1) Journal Entry: At the end of senior year, if you had the opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime, where would you go? What type of transportation would you use to travel to your destination(s)? Who would you take with you as your travel companion(s)? Record your travel itinerary in the journal entry.

For Monday, have all TMD questions answered in journals. Both articles should be fully annotated for class discussion.

Guiding Questions/Suggestions for Annotation:

  1. How does Guevara define a revolutionary?

  2. How does Guevara’s tone differ in each speech? (Pay attention to specific diction.)

  3. What is the central argument in each?

  4. How does Guevara use rhetorical appeals to make his point(s)?

  5. What rhetorical techniques are recognizable and impactful?
