Welcome to the Standard 5.2 Collaboration with families, colleagues, and community agencies section of my portfolio.

This section includes artifacts that represent what I have learned that pertains to the ACEI Standard 5.2: Collaboration with families, colleagues, and community agencies, which states that "candidates know the importance of establishing and maintaining a positive collaborative relationship with families, school colleagues, and agencies in the larger community to promote the intellectual, social, emotional, physical growth and well-being of children."

Domain: PROFESSIONALISM
Standard: 5.2 Collaboration with families, colleagues, and community agencies—Candidates know the importance of establishing and maintaining a positive collaborative relationship with families, school colleagues, and agencies in the larger community to promote the intellectual, social, emotional, physical growth and well-being of children.

Artifacts that I have completed that are representative of meeting the ACEI standard include:

  • Letter to parents/caregivers
  • Up ‘Till Dawn PDF flier

In completing the artifacts, I learned how to effectively communicate important information to students, parents/caregivers, and members in both the school and local community. I learned that being a teacher also aligns with being a leader, role model, and supply a voice for those who are unable to reach their demographics effectively. I learned that as an educator I possess the power to promote the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth and well-being of the children I teach through my collaborative relationships with families, school colleagues, and agencies in the larger community.

My learning applies to the standard in the following way:

  • Candidates know the importance of establishing and maintaining a positive collaborative relationship with families, school colleagues, and agencies in the larger community to promote the intellectual, social, emotional, physical growth and well-being of children
