This section includes artifacts that represent what I have learned that pertains to the ACEI Standard 5.1: Professional growth, reflection, and evaluation, which states that "Candidates are aware of and reflect on their practice in light of research on teaching, professional ethics, and resources available for professional learning; they continually evaluate the effects of their professional decisions and actions on students, families and other professionals in the learning community and actively seek out opportunities to grow professionally."

In completing the artifacts, I gained valuable insights about effective and ineffective teaching in a classroom setting. I learned about the way in which a classroom is organized with regards to students, objects, and others. I learned about various aspects that were representative of my host school and host classroom’s culture. I learned a lot from my students by simply observing their interactions with the teacher and each other. My host students solidified the idea that the students I teach will require adaptations, modifications, and differentiations to effectively interpret class content. I learned ample knowledge about the first-grade curriculum content in supporting the students’ academic and social development. I noted various observations about gender equality during several lessons. In observing my host teacher, I learned many effective classroom management strategies.
