Unit Topic: ¿Adónde vas?                                                                                                                                 Duration of Unit: 10 hours

 

Context for the Integrated Performance Assessment: Your school’s Spanish Club is going to Mexico City for a week in January. Among the many activities planned is a visit to the Plaza del Sol. In fact, your sponsor has told you that you can all go to the mall on either Saturday or Sunday and on one evening during the week. He/she has formed a committee to select the evening and the weekend day; you are a member of the committee.

 

Interpretive Task: Read a mall advertisement (on a flier or from a newspaper) with.dates and times. Select the evening and the weekend day you would like to go to the mall. Write your decision on a piece of paper along with why you want to go on those days.

 

Interpersonal Task: Discuss your opinion and your reasons with the other 2 or 3 members of the committee. Listen to their opinions and reasons. As a group, select the evening and the weekend day for the visits to the mall.

 

Presentational Task: Make an oral presentation to the members of the Spanish Club announcing when the club will go to the mall and explaining the reasons for the committee’s decision.
