I created a presentation about Fred Jones and his classroom management theory.  The presentation included a PowerPoint, an activity and a one page handout.  This presentation gave me very concrete knowledge of Jones' theory and I was able to form ideas about my own techniques that I will use in my classroom.  I was also fortunate to see the presentations of my classmates and learned about other theorists like, Kounin, Skinner and Dreikur.  Please look at my PowerPoint and handout to get more information on Frederic Jones.

Frederic Jones has an interesting style of management.  I believe his is the type of style that is not easily recognizable.  When you see teachers using his techniques in class, they usually do things like stand close to students and give them the look.  Jones recommends an interior loop in the classroom, which is the fewest amount of steps to reach all students.  Often the look is enough to reel in behavior issues with Jones style, but he sometimes recommends using time out, or going to the principal only when necessary.  Fred Jones has a nice balance of positive reinforcements and consequential discipline.
