One of my favorite topics in Children's Literature is read alouds. As a future teacher, I feel that it is very important to have a convincing read aloud. I have developed this workshop handout for teachers to use as a reference for their own read alouds. It stresses the importance of choosing a quality work of literature, when to read, how to prepare, and how to include the students in a discussion. I have also included a checklist for teachers to use when selecting a quality book for a read aloud, or for their own class library. Read aloud time will be a daily activity in my classroom.
