Introduction to Exceptional Learners was a class that opened my eyes to the world of special needs students. We studied every aspect of special needs including, mental, physical and psychological disorders. I was able to complete service learning in a special education classroom with students who had emotional disorders. While my goals do not include teaching in a special education classroom, I have a better understanding of the students who will mainstream into my classroom.
