Portfolio Rationale

Context:

This Portfolio was started in the Spring Semester of 2008.  This portfolio will show some of the work that I have done for my Elementary Education Degree through Appalachian State University’s Off Campus Program at the Hickory Metro Higher Education Center in Catawba County.  This portfolio shows work beginning with Fall of 2007 through Student Teaching in the Fall of 2009.

Impact:

This portfolio will be a great organizational tool to show the work, lesson plans, and things that I have learned throughout my courses that are required for my Elementary Education Degree at Appalachian State University.  This portfolio shows which of the NC DPI Standards and the NETS-T standards that I have met, as well as how I met them.  Before graduation, this portfolio will show how I met at least half of all the Indicators in each of the seventeen NC DPI Standards, and all of the NETS-T Technology standards.  This portfolio will be an organized instrument to show potential employers my work, what I have learned, how committed I am, and how I am well-prepared to begin teaching.

I met this standard through creating this portfolio.  I used different aspects of technology:  digital camera, video camera, Microsoft Word, IMovie, Taskstream, Webpage, Microsoft Office Publisher, and Mac computer.
