K-1 Science Center

Context:

This K-1 Science Center was created in the Summer 2008 semester at Appalachian State University under the advisement of Dr. Terry Carroll.

Impact:

This K-1 Science Center is a center that I created to help students experiment.  The students look at how different textures cause vehicles to travel at different speeds..

Alignment:

Standard 10: Teachers provide active inquiry experiences in the teaching of science by using various questioning skills and developing science processing skills (predicting, classifying, measuring, inferring, interpreting, analyzing, and synthesizing).

I met this standard by creating a center that provides a way for students to inquire about science and by using questions during the center that will increase their learning and understanding of the concept.
