Lunar Project

Context:

This Lunar Project was created in the Summer 2008 semester at Appalachian State University under the advisement of Dr. Terry Carroll.

Impact:

This lunar project was a way to begin studying the moon.  In learning about planets, it is important for students to understand the differences in the way the moon look at different times.

Alignment:

Standard 3: Elementary teachers have a broad knowledge and understanding of the major concepts in science.

Indicator 3: Teachers have knowledge of basic earth science including: planetary astronomy.

I met this standard by learning how to teach and introduce a lesson on the moon and how the moon changes (the phases of the moon.)
