Context:

This artifact was created during the Fall semester of 2007, in GS 4401: Science and Science Teaching in the Elementary School.  It was created under the advisement of Mr. Jeff Goodman as a part of Block II.

Impact:

By using these websites students would be knowledgeable about not only the phases of matter, but what is needed to go through the transformation.  Students will learn that energy is needed to change states of matter.  They will also be aware of the three most common phases of matter and real world examples of each.  They will be able to relate the science to their own lives.

Alignment:

Through this artifact I am able to meet the following NCDPI Teacher Standards:

Standard 3, Indicator 2:  This artifact shows that I know about the three basic phases of matter, what is needed to change phases, and the properties of each phase.  I have analyzed each site for accurate information on phases of matter as well as its appropriateness for the students.
