The second eight weeks of the educational administration internship program focused on ISLLC Standards 4 – 6, and provided the author time to reflect on his personal growth within these standards. All three standards center on the student as learner within the context of the community with an emphasis on ethics and integrity.The program provided new leadersip opportunities for this author. Several new, positive relationships have been built with school personnel due to assignments to fulfill the practicum hours. This author is looking forward to accepting an assignment as a school leader as a result of this experience.
 

USA- ISLLC Educational Leadership Policy Standards 2008
Standard: Standard 4: An education leader promotes the success of every student by collaborating with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
Function: A. Collect and analyze data and information pertinent to the educational environment

Standard: Standard 6: An education leader promotes the success of every student by understanding, responding to, and influencing the political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.
Function: A. Advocate for children, families, and caregivers
Function: B. Act to influence local, district, state, and national decisions affecting student learning
Function: C. Assess, analyze, and anticipate emerging trends and initiatives in order to adapt leadership strategies
