A social environmental is critical to exploring and learning about science.  I promote a classroom where this sort of discourse can occur.  In order to do this, students have generated their own set of classroom rules.  An example of rules created by students is attached.  Additionally, classroom layout is conducive to group-work.  Students sit at tables in groups of 4-5.  This is important for creating a space for students to have dialogue and learning support.
