In teaching English language learners, I strive to use different modalities of instruction including visual learning. Students work collaboratively in groups in order to support each other's learning. In this lesson, students work create posters representing an animal of their choice in its habitat. They are given guidelines on specific information that needs to be included on their poster. This activity reinforces previous vocabulary learned in the class and creates the opportunity for students to work collaboratively and create visuals to represent their understanding.
