TPE 13- Professional Growth

In order to support my continued learning about science teaching instruction, I am a member of the Exploratorium Teacher Institute.  Through this program, I attend regular workshops on topics such as hands-on and inquiry-based learning and tutorials on specific subject-matter instruction.  I also closely work with a museum sponsored mentor teacher to find resources and materials that will enhance the learning experience of the students in my classroom.  I will also be attending a summer institute for science teacher during July 2005. I am including a link to this program below. 

Furthermore, I am involved with the Presidio Habitat Restoration and Service Learning programs in the Golden Gate National Park.  As an Environmental Science instructor, this program supports my professional development and ability to link instruction to local environmental issues in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I am including a link below.
