By the end of this unit, students should be able to answer the following essential questions:

1.  How can I make commands in Japanese?

2.  How can I delineate sequence in Japanese?

3.  How can I ask permission to do something in Japanese?

 

A.  Big Ideas

              1.  Understanding everyday situations.

              2.  Expressing ideas in everyday situations

              3.  Questioning in everyday situations

 

       B.  Assumptions of student knowledge

                     1.  I’m assuming students have at least heard of the TE-form before starting this unit.

                     2.  I’m assuming students have a basic foundation of vocabulary to draw from.

                     3.  I’m assuming students are aware of the grammatical conventions by which Japanese sentences are correctly formed.

                     4.  I’m assuming students have had a conversation in Japanese before.

                     5.  I’m assuming students have had exposure to conjugating verbs in Japanese prior to this lesson.
