My Life

        My life

My name is Rolando Cruz and I was born in Hartford- Connecticut and I am half Puerto- Rican. I have two sisters and one brother. My mom’s name is Sandra Rivera and my dad’s name is Rolando Cruz. I like to play sports like football and dodge ball. I like to help the community because it feels good when I help other people. But I actually also like to draw pictures to feel good when I am mad because it helps me concentrate, and it also helps me relax and it makes me feel really good. I also like to communicate with soldiers that are in the war because they help people in America.

Book Review

‘’Amigo Brothers’’

A book review by Jose A Negron and Luis Rodriguez

Amigo Brothers by Piri Thomas is a story about two best friends named Antonio Cruz and Felix Vargas, who are boxers. They have to fight each other to represent their gym, Boys Club, in the Golden Gloves Championship Tournament.

Even though they fight each other, they do it with honor and at the end they are still best friends.  The end is great because when they are about to announce the winner, they both leave the ring together so they can’t’ hear the winner’s name.  This way they will still be friends.  This story shows the true meaning of friendship because they care more about their fiends than the competition. I thought this was a great friendship story.

Jose A. Negron and Luis Rodriguez are 7th graders at Mariana Bracetti Academy.  They read this story in English class and thought it was a great story to write about.
