The following sample demonstrates my ability to employ the use of the Six Traits of Writing Rubric to evaluate students writing. I designed a Power Point that demonstrates how teachers can use rubrics to assess students and their writing allowing guided instruction in specific areas.

AZ- Arizona's Professional Teacher Standards
Standard 2: The teacher creates and maintains a learning climate that supports the development of students' abilities to meet Arizona's academic standards.The performance assessment shall measure the extent to which the teacher:
Assessed performance 1: Establishes and maintains standards of mutual respect
Assessed performance 2: Displays effective classroom management
Assessed performance 3: Encourages the student to demonstrate self-discipline and responsibility to self and others
Assessed performance 4: Respects the individual differences among learners
Assessed performance 5: Facilitates people working productively and cooperatively with each other
Assessed performance 6: Provides a motivating learning environment
Assessed performance 7: Promotes appropriate classroom participation

By designing a literacy program I have had the opportunity to design five lessons that will introduce students to the newspaper and how to write as a reporter. This project has allowed me to collect a variety of resources that I will use in my classroom and the experience has prepared me to create lessons for my classroom.
