everything is going well with the project.
what is not going well?
everything is I'm not having any problems.
what do you need to make sure that you meet all of your deadlines?
I need to start making my sensors and cut out my box.

People in societies
Analyze the consequences of oppression, discrimination and conflict between cultures.
My idea is to get people to understand what it was that Jan Hus , John Wycliffe and Martin Luther was trying to establish. I am going to be writing about Jan Hus and how he felt about the church and the power that they had and the way it was getting abused. Back in the fourthteen century a man named john wycliffe look into the catholic church and he wanted to change the way that people were treating it. it takes place back in England around the University of pruage. It is important because he changed history and made it so that everyone will be abel to understand hima nd see his point of view. It relates to my benchmark because it relates to the different confilict and discrimination brought about cultures.
concept solution (sketch 1)
When you walk pass the detector light up the cross then activates the fire. then the fires goes away then the cross fades away also. then there is three LEDs that come up tha6t represents Jan Hus, John Wycliffe and Martin Luther.
Materials used are wood and LEDs, motion sensors, sound sensors.
It iteracts with the outside system because its hands on you can touch it and stuff. when you walk pass It, it lets you know that you walked pass because it comes on.
The box works like this; when you walk pass it the detector lights up the cross which then activates the other sensors which makes the fire appear. the next thing is the fire goes away and then the cross dies down. after that three LEDs appear which represents Jan Hus, Martin Luther, and John Wycliffe. after that ninety five LEDs come on which represents the ninety-five treaties that Martin Luther wrote on the catholic church door.
Project Introduction: In this stage if the project the teachers talked to us about what we needed to do during the project. They told us what the project was based around and which teachers would help us which the following steps. Also they told us how to get through each phase if we got stuck at all.
S.S. Bench Mark Brainstorm: In this stage we brainstormed which benchmark we wanted to address. We were given options on past benchmarks that we wanted to show more in-depth perspective of how we understood it. This was the step in which we came up with our goal and basic idea to show what we thought about the subject.
Champion: Ayesha Switzer and sharde Newsome
Comments: I think I did well on the brainstorming; it was the easiest part of the Light box project.
Developed Topic and Project Idea: In this phase I took my basic ideas on what I wanted to show in the project design and broke it down into my benchmark, my subject, and research. I took my benchmark of and came up with what I wanted to do it on. I chose to do my project on Jan Hus, a man that died for what he believed in and I thought that was great.

Comments: I think I did well on this and got I done quickly and well.
Historical Research and Pre-Write: In this step I did in-depth research to my topic to find more about the little things i didn’t know from the previous step and prior knowledge. Next I wrote out my information into notes and looked over what i had and how it would fit together. Finally I wrote it out in paragraph form and submitted it.
Champion: Aaron Gracie
Comments: This step was interesting and I think I did it thoroughly, however I did not do it fast enough and was stuck for a few hours.
Conceptual Solution (sketch): In this step I sketched out a simple and basic design for my box. A church door with a cross And fire and the ninety-five treaties on it. But then my partner thought that we should change it so we took the door out and added three more LEDs.
Champion: Ayesha Switzer and Sharde Newsome
Comments: The brainstorming for my design seemed difficult since I had to show a topic in an abstract way. This step took a few class periods to come up with a design I liked.
Preliminary Design: In this step I took my final conceptual idea and drew it out on grid paper so I knew how big it was to scale. Then I took that idea and drew out how my LEDs would be placed. Finally I took it to have a Gap analysis to see how my LEDs would work in that configuration.

Descriptive Essay
A man named Jan Hus was more than just a man, some would say he was a man that if he believed in it then it was true and no one could tell him otherwise. Jan Hus was a catholic priest, philosopher, reformer and master at Charles University of Prague. Hus stood for more than just, religion he stood for things that he thought was right. He figured that if he was willing to die for what he believed in then people would believe him, but after following a man named John Wycliffe around he started to see the points that he was trying to make. John Wycliffe was a man that thought the church was wrong and was using their power the wrong way. He was an English theologian lay preacher, translator, and reformist. He was an early descendent, of the Roman Catholic Church during the fourteenth Century. Then Hus started to notice that not everything Wycliffe was doing was right. So he didn’t go against the church he just thought that they had too much power and felt as if it wasn’t right. So when he started to criticize the church that set the stage for later reformers who would radically alter the history of the Christian church. Then as he read on in Wycliffe’s work he ended up getting burned at the stake for trying to follow after Wycliffe.
This cross stands for Christianity and all the things that Hus believed in and he did believe in God but he just felt like the Christian Church was being abused so he wanted to take charge and stop it. The fire on the bottom represents when Hus got burned at the stake for standing up for what was right and letting them know that what was going on was cruel and unusual punishment. This man is someone who everyone looks up to but they felt as if he was following the wrong man and it wasn’t good on his behalf.
The last thing is the door of the church and it stands for a man named Martin Luther, and how he came to the church and wrote thirty five treaties on the church. Ever since then he has been playing an important part in what Jan Hus was trying to establish, and all the things that he believed in. Martin Luther was one of the Tetzel’s critics. Tetzel, a Dominican preacher who was known for letting people think that they can be forgiven for their sins by paying with money (indulgences) and Martin Luther challenged the Tetzel. This is a man who gave up his life for something that he believed in. The colors of the LEDs are red which stands for the blood stripped from Hus, yellow is for the lights that surround the cross. Green is the color of the door and gold is for the ninety five treaties. All of this occurred way back in the sixteenth century. The other form of Christianity is the Lutheran church. It went like this: instead of you having a relationship with the priest your relationship was with God and that was it. The oppressor was the government because of what they did to him, and he was the oppressed because they burned him at the stake.

LIVES IN THE BALANCE
I use to think that I’m like Jesus,
Because people didn’t believe me.
They think of me as a liar,
But while my blood rushes through my veins,
I fear nothing why? Because I know nothing can be this painful.
The way they look down on me,
I feel as if I am going through this life time again.
I’m screaming out at people but no one seems to hear me.
They ignore me like I’m a paper bag sitting around and then, I think to myself;
Do I deserve to die this way, was I really that bad of a person?
I try to stand up for something that I believe in but they take me down,
And cluster me with their words.
I try to understand how a world can be so cruel to me.
Then I think back and wonder I’m not that great of a person
But I’ve always tried to do my best that I know that I can
I pray that God takes me in and sees that I was just
Trying to do his will, but no one understands me though.
I’m stuck in a cold cruel world and I’m trying to get out.
i guess on this project it went well. i think that even though my partner was barley a partner that i still got the work done and acomplishedso much by myself. i had fun working and building this box and hope to more like it in the future.
