Welcome to the Orange Educator Residency Program. We are thrilled that you have joined the Orange Team!
To start the journey through your 4-Year Residency Program, we are sharing several links and resources below that may be helpful to you.
- Please take a moment to review these resources and the "web links" to begin to envision and frame your work this year.
- Create a folder that can be shared using an application such as Google Drive or Drop Box named "Residency Evidence" and a subfolder named "Year 1". (You will be asked to download, complete, and save documentation of your work throughout the year to this folder).
- All of your finalized documentation will ultimately be loaded back up to Taskstream for reviewing and archiving your work.
- You will be required to provide evidence during an "exit" interview at the end of your first year of Residency.
- Toward the end of the academic year (usually in late April or May), you will be required to share your Formative Progress Review document and other evidence and reflections of your choosing with your Program Coordinator and possibly a district administrator.
Weekly Meetings with your Residency Mentor
In Year 1, you will meet weekly with your Residency Mentor and will complete a Collaborative Log entry or Interactive Journal entry to provide written evidence to chronicle your work together. This work is meant to be driven by the interests, needs and passions of the Resident Educator and should be directly related to the Ohio Educator Standards and the OTES (Ohio Teacher Evaluation System) work. The "Areas of Focus" link is an optional guideline this year and is not required but may be helpful in aligning work with recommendations for areas of emphasis related to OTES and Educator Standards.
