It is a requirement to complete 2-4 Collaborative logs or journal entries per month

1. Click on the Collaborative Log link below each time you need to complete a Collaborative Log or use your created Interactive Journal format.
2. "Save as" and rename with the date of your meeting (ie. 8/29/16 etc...)
3. Complete the log or journal entry with your Mentor 2-4 times per month.
4. Save a copy of each of your Collaborative Logs or journal entries in your RE Year 1 folder.
5. When you have completed your 2-4 Collaborative Logs or journal entries, attach each log and click "submit".

The first shared Collaborative Log (Standard, Monthly Log) is the primary Collaborative log.  The Standard Monthly Collaborative Logs are interactive and can be completed electronically.  The additional, alternate logs  can be used  as needed in place of the Standard, Monthly at any time.  The alternate logs are not currently interactive, but can be completed manually and scanned into Taskstream.  It is recommended (but not required) for each Resident Educator to complete at least one of each of the Alternate Collaborative Logs throughout the course of completing their Year 1 requirements. 

In lieu of the Collaborative Log, the Resident Educator and Mentor may elect to develop and complete a reflective journal entry together 2-4 times per month.

Resident Educators and Mentors should work together to document Mid-Year progress on OTES/SMART Goals portion between the beginning of January and Mid-February.  

1. Locate your OTES/SMART Goal submission in your RE Folder/Taskstream entry from Fall and open it.  Resident Educators may elect to document using the SMART Goals template artifact or another format.  However, regardless of format, Resident Educators should meet with Mentors and document progress toward meeting specified goals, including "evidence" and "action steps" for continuing goals (mid-year).
2. If Resident Educators elect to use the OTES/SMART Goals Template, open the document from Fall and rename the document  "Winter OTES goals" (or something similar and easily identifiable) and Save the document to your RE folder.  If using another format, update and save the document in the same manner (so that there are now 2 copies, one from "Fall" and one that will be updated for "Winter" (Mid-Year).
3. If you have not already done so, complete your "Evidence/Outcomes" portion of your OTES goals "Beginning of Year" sections, citing SPECIFIC evidence you have ALREADY collected to demonstrate progress on your goals from the beginning of the year.  
4. Complete the Mid Year "Action Steps",  "Timeline" and "Resources" portions of the OTES/SMART goal template together with your Mentor.  It is optional to enter Mid-Year Evidence and Outcomes for your OTES/SMART goals at this time.  However, if not completed at this time, Mid-Year AND End-of-Year evidence will BOTH need to be completed in the Final End-of-Year OTES/SMART Goals submission in May.  
5. Save your work on this document in your RE folder, as you will return to it again in April/May.
6. Once you have completed Beginning of Year Evidence/Outcomes (citing SPECIFIC evidence you have collected to show progress on your goals) and your Mid-Year information outlined in step 4 above, attach the "Winter" OTES/SMART goal template and upload it to Taskstream and submit.  

     Please remember the only "evaluation" measures for these requirements are "met" or "not met".  Feedback is given only when portions of the requirements (that can be unclear at times) show lack of specific information or possibly some confusions that can easily be addressed .  The feedback is provided to help Resident Educators gain new insights and understandings to improve their Reflective Practice and increase their understanding of the "framework" and "core principles" of the Resident Educator Program and the artifacts being completed.  Feedback is not intended to be "critical" or "evaluative" of the quality of work of Resident Educators.  At times, it may be helpful to request collaborative conversations to discuss subitted work in more depth.  The Resident Educator, Mentor and/or Program Coordinator should feel free to to facilitate collaborative feedback meetings as needed.
