SMART Goals: Resident Educators will use the Ohio Educator Standards (found in the 'General Information' Section) and OTES "Self-Assessment" to choose TWO standards to focus on the create SMART goals to document on their Professional Growth OTES documents for the year.  SMART goals must be:

Specific

Measureable

Attainable

Relevant

Time-Bound

          Resident Educators and their Mentors should use the Goal Setting Guide attached below to develop SMART goals.  The SMART goals Power Point will be shared and should be reviewed by Resident Educators and Mentors when developing SMART Goals. Our OOTES (Orange, Ohio Teacher Evaluation System) goals are due to our Evaluators by September 15th each year.  In addition, the OTES Educator Standards Rubric can be used to assist in the completion of the OTES Self-Assessment document.  These tools will assist Resident Educators and Mentors with aligning work through the OTES and Resident Educator processes.

1. Please complete the OTES Self-Assessment document.  Save a copy in your RE year 2 folder and then upload and submit to Taskstream once completed to document evidence in your Taskstream portfolio.

Resident Educators work with Mentors to complete OTES goals at the beginning of the year. The Goals must be written and submitted to your OTES evaluator by September 15th.  This SMART goals template may also be used to document goals and progress toward meeting these goals throughout the year.  There is NO submission requirement other than the OTES Professional growth Plan, but it may be useful to start documenting progress toward these goals in the "beginning of the year" section of this template to share progress with your OTES evaluator.

1. Click on the SMART Goals Template below and complete the "Beginning of the Year" portion of the Goal Setting Template below and "Save as" FALL OTES goals with the year (ie. 2016-17) in your Year 2 folder.
2. You CAN also upload and submit this task to Taskstream portfolio if you so desire.  This entry is OPTIONAL and is strictly provided as a way to document and share progress with your OTES evaluator.
