2012-2013 Travel and Activities for research for my writing, painting and teaching

Paris, France - photography and research for art history classes, Louvre, Sainte-Chapelle. Conference of ASHCA (Association of Scholars of the History of Christianity in Art) - special lecture/tour for members of restoration of Sainte-Chapelle medieval frescoes, previously hidden. 

Istanbul, Turkey - photography and research for art history classes, Islamic Visual Culture classes, and personal research and artwork.  Presentation to galleries of my Project - exhibit and installation on Mavi Marmarna Remembered.

Jerusalem - use of L'Ecole Biblique for research on the symbol of the cloud in Christianity, Judaism and Islam & meeting with Pere Jean-Michelle, curator of photographic archieves of L'Ecole Biblique; photography and research for art history classes, Islamic Visual Culture class, and and personal research and artwork.  Meeting with Iman Ibrahim, of House of Peace on Mt.of Olives for discussion of ecumenical developments.  Attended Conference on Interreligious Understanding at Ecce Homo Convent, meeting with Imam Feisal  Abdur-Rauf for research.

Amman - use of ACOR (American Center of Oriental Research) library and attended monthly lectures most recently "Qusayr 'Amra Conservation Project, 2010-2012  by Dr. Gaetano Palumbo, Program Director for North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia for the World Monuments Fund (WMF) March, 2013;  "From Village to Bishopric: Pella in Jordan 2013", February 2013, presenting the most recent findings on the execavations at Pella; "Daily Life on the Masjid al-Aqsa Compound in the Ottoman Period," by Dr. Robert Schick, January, 2013.

Amman - member of Friends of Archaeology - attend monthly lectures and archaeological trips.  Most recent lectures include  "The Heritage Educational Rsource Kit for the Site of Jerash - Ana Jerash" by Dr, Arwa Badran, March, 2013, Lecture "Rediscovery of Transjordan in the nineteenth century, Dr. H.E. Hisham Al Khatab; trips included Karak Citadel, Aljoun Castle, Desert Castles, Quasar Amara Resotoration Project.  I often bring students to lectures and/or trips.

Amman - CUMERC - Columbia University Middle East Research Center - attend monthly lectures and events.  Most recent lecture Glenn Lowry, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), NYC, "Mapping the Museume of Modern Art," March, 2013; Jack Persekian, Director of the Palestian Museum, "To Become An Artist". February, 2013; Gallerist-Curator Saleh Barakat, "Middle Eastern Art At the Age of Globalization,", January, 2013.

Um Al Rasas, Jordan - archaeological research for paper currently in process.  Also photography for use in artwork and WAC-7 presentationBethlehem & Jericho - photography and research for artwork.

Abilia, Jordan - research and photography for paper presented on endangered archaeological sites at WAC-7 and multi-media artwork

Qusayr Amra - documentation of restoration by Italian team of frescoes for art history teaching, research and painting.

New York City, NY - research on new Islamic Art wing of Metropolitan Museum for Islamic Visual Culture course and personal research, Matisse exhibit, George Bellows exhibit, Regarding Warhol exhibit for Art History 3, Bernini "Sculpting in Clay" exhibit for Art History ll, Afer Photoshop: Manipulated Photography in the Digital Age for research for Computer Graphics at Metropolitan Museum, 2012; research for publication and video on Ultra Violet at exhibit of Warhol Photographer William John Kennedy 109/Gallery, NYC, NY. 

Los Angeles, California - research and documentation of Los Angeles County Museum, Freda Khalo exhibit, 2012.
