1. Connect with Community
I have made it a top-priority in my first year at Loyola University Chicago to connect with my Rambler Community. What this looks like for me is exploring the various organizations present on campus. This also looks like attending various programs geared towards First Year Students, like the New Year's Festival and other events.
2. Focus on Well-Being
I have receieved a fair amount of warning about maintaining my well-being during my first semester, both during Welcome Week and my introductory UNIV101 class. Taking care of my physical, mental, and emotional health will be key to being successful in my first semester, as well as freshman year. I will remain physically well by focusing on eating well-balanced meals, and getting adequate sleep. My emotional well-being will be maintained by forming healthy friendships with my peers, who I can then go to when I am feeling overwhelmed by the craziness of freshman year. Giving myself study breaks will allow me to remain mentally well during my freshman year as well.
3. Expand my Knowledge
Of course, gaining and expanding my knowledge is also a priority during my first semester. After all, I wouldn't have come to college if I didn't have at least a little desire to learn! I am excited to have the chance to take courses that I have never been exposed to before entering college. This access to courses I am interested in and excited about will allow me to expand my knowledge in countless ways.
