5. Prepare map of the Islamic World showing Islamic territories through AD 750

1. Warm Up: Complete a graphic organizer showing the contributions of 5 early Muslims
2. Open Book Quiz Chapter 11 section 2

Tuesday 1-12-10
1. Complete Review Sheet for Islam test next class period.
2. Read Chapter 13, section 1 and create a family tree of the Carolingian dynasty in the Frankish Empire. Show the accomplishments of each ruling member of the dynasty and the reasons for the decline of the empire.
3. Invader chart - show the groups who invaded Frank territory, where they came from and where they settled - describe invaders

Tuesday 2-2-10
1. Warm UP - graphic organizer showing events that led to defeat of Frederick Barbarossa
2. Using posters completed in class and textbook, students will complete a Gallery Walk to answer questions over the various rulers during the early Middle Ages.
3. Review for Benchmark using teacher created questions and powerpoints.

2. Complete a review sheet for the chapter 13 test
Tuesday 2-16-10
1. Quiz chapter 14 section 1
2. Create a Timeline of Key Events of the Crusades
3. Identify major figures
4. Categorize a list of effects of the crusades into the categories of Political, Economic, Social, and Cultural - students will cut changes out of a list and glue them into charts. CScope activity
5. choose what you consider the 5 most important changes
Give each group of students 5 sticky notes and have them list their 5 most important changes and place them on a large chart.
Thursday 2-18-10
1. Warm UP - Identify Hundred Years War, War of Roses, Joan of Arc
2. Bubonic Plague - read scenario to students, watch short video, answer TAKS questions
