The topic for this Treasure Hunt is an overview of Renaissance artwork and the symbols that are often incorporated into the paintings of that time period. This lesson is designed for 12th graders and will be at a high school reading level. This type of analysis will prepare these students for assignments at the college level. The students will be able to demonstrate their depth of knowledge by completing each assignment . Each assignment reinforces the lesson but each appeals to a different type of learner so that each student will have a chance to truly show their full understanding of the knowledge. Because Art standards only go to the 8th grade, the standards in this lesson is the highest that can be incorporated for Art.

A possible activity to add on to this lesson would be a research paper analyzing a Renaissance artist, that was not covered in the Website readings, and how that artist incorporated symbols into his paintings and an overview of the artists oeuvre
