I have had many experiences with children. I have been a summer camp counselor for children in first through third grades for the past two summers. During summer camp, I mainly work with the first grade group of students. At summer camp, I am responsible for the safety of the children and helping them perform the crafts and activities. I also worked at a before and after school care program during the past two years. I have also helped in Sunday school classrooms and the nursery at my church. I also assisted in a vacation bible school class for a summer. I also did a lot of work with students in my mother's classroom throughout my life. During high school, I took an education class at the local community college and observed in many different classrooms throughout the semester. While in the education program at Frostburg State University, I have worked in a fifth grade classroom for twenty hours. I also worked in the preschool center on campus for a semester. Currently, I am working in a head start classroom.
