Chapter 1 -Getting Started with Photoshop CS

Getting Started with Photoshop CS3

 

 

Today we are getting started with Adobe Photoshop CS3. 

 

Chapter Objectives

 

  • Start Adobe Photoshop CS3
  • Learn how to open and save an image 
  • Examine the Photoshop window 
  • Use the Layers and History palettes 
  • Learn about Photoshop by using Help 
  • View and print an image
  • Close a file and exit Photoshop

 Assignments:

 

  1. Complete reading from the Adobe Revealed text pages 1-1 to 1-43
  2. View the Chapter 1 PowerPoint (see Attachments, below)
  3. Complete the practices for each lesson.  Not all lessons will have an image to edit or save.  Some lessons provide information needed to set up a workspace or to use the help features.  Images to complete for this chapter include:
    • Hot Air Balloon (practices)
    • Zenith Design Logo (skilled review)
    • Cooking (project builder 2)
    • Critique 1 (design project)
    • Critique 2 (design project)
  4.  Open Workspace Assignment (see "Attachments" below) and identify each of the labeled parts of the workspace. Read instructions provide.  Print and turn in.
