Unit 1 - Introducing Word

Lesson 1

Word is a wonderful way to create word processing documents such as our journal newsletter, letters, resumes, and more.  A document can be simply texts or can be innovating with graphics, tables and other features to enhance your creation.  This is what you will learn as you explore lesson 1:

Objective: 

  • Understanding the Office interface
  • Use input devices
  • Saving, opening, and printing files
  • Searching the Web and citing sources
  • Understanding e-mail etiquette and ethics
  • Sending and receiving e-mail
  • Detect ting and preventing malicious code
  • Exploring Office with the Help window
  • Creating secure passwords

Each of the following assignments will assist you with your objectives for this lesson:

Assignments:

  1. Read Chapter 1 - Microsoft Office Basic and review the power point for Chapter 1.
  2. Study and become familiar with the Vocabulary list on page 30-31
  3. Study and become familiar with the Office Commands listed on page 32
  4. Complete the Review Questions on a word document. Review Questions are listed on page 33-34
  5. Complete the following exercises:
    • Computer Lab (exercise 1-3)
    • E-Commerce (Exercise 4)
    • Web Exercises (Exercise 5-9)
    • Reflection Chapter 1 (Exercise 17)
  6. Read over and complete each worksheet on the attachment link.

 

 

 

 

 

Test

Take the Electronic Test.  Use your complete name and school ID.  Test will automatically email your score to me.  Upon completion of test click the submit button for your score and to submit test.

Use the Word document test to view the graphics.  Download Word document test to your T-drive and refer to it to complete the Electronic Test.
