My Career Idea

Based on my resume, I was mostly involved with extracurricular that are very active and quite physical. My years of playing lacrosse I have acquire great skills in team work and communication skills. I enjoyed playing competitively and that it makes me work a lot harder. Also the time spent participating in the marching band and pep-band, communication and leadership skill is very important. Based on my resume the Holland code that is the most visible is Realistic because I love going outside and getting my hands on. Another of the letter could be artistic, my interest in music and playing in bands implies that the time I experience playing makes me more of an artistic thinker. Lastly with my job working as a security guard, waiter at restaurant and delivering sandwiches shows that I am also associated with the realistic Holland code, making me a do-er, I enjoy working with people and interacting with my working environment.

Based on my Woofound personality blend result, my inventor personality is the highest. Being the inventor, they are creative and work “outside the box”. They involve themselves with some form of art to communicate with the world. I do enjoy making art, playing music and using some critical thinking. Second highest was the Naturalist, they’re drawn to conserving and protecting the environment working with plants and animals, love to experience the outdoors. Based on my jobs on the resume, I mostly spent my time working outside, either my driving job, delivering or working in the heat at a concert. For the third highest on the blend is visionary, people who are charismatic, like working with other, taking risks and taking charge. Anytime that I am playing either in the pep band or in a band, I have to take charge because I have to keep time and lead everyone in. As well as my security job, I have to take charge of the people making sure that they are following the rules. My Holland codes were close to these blend because my top code was realistic similar to that of a naturalist in a way that they categorize themselves of doing tasks at first hand, enjoy being in the outdoors. The blend of the inventor is also similar to artist code of being creative and always thinking critically. My last blend of visionary didn’t match my Holland code of investigation. It should have gone with analyzer blend, but analyzer blend was the 4th on Woofound results. As for exploring further on a career, I explored Veterinary that has two Holland code of Investigative and realistic.

The three job clusters were Science, art and technology. The 7 videos I watch were of Dr.Kamton a general  practitioner veterinarian, Clayton Losferara a national science director, Charlet Sharen a environmental  scientist, Dave Shumaker an animal  control specialist,  Richie conanta a musician and studio, Krish Gimer a graphic designer and Jeff Widner a lead animator. I’m interested in all of them but I am very intrigue with the musician, veterinarian and graphic designer. As a musician, I like the fact that you get to play instruments, work with other musicians and be able to perform in fort of audiences. Bring a vet I can get to work with animals and for graphic design I like hoe they get to work at home and come up with creative ideas to satisfy customers. Some of which I didn’t like were the national science director career and animator job because both have most of their times indoors and that I wouldn’t like the working environment. This helped me with eliminating what I don’t like, but I found that I would enjoy working in the outdoors and that I like to incorporate my creativity to my career path.

There were some careers I explored further were Veterinarian, Commercial industrial design, Zoology/ wild life biologist, Therapist, animal scientist, musician, Chef, archeologist, video game Designer. I least favorite occupation would probably be Therapist and video game designer, even though I enjoy playing video games and I wouldn’t like being stuck inside working in front of the computer. For Therapist job I don’t think I’m not much of a people person, I am but at least I don’t think ill like to keep track of people like that. Occupations that is my favorite would be being a musician, zoology, anima scientist and chef. As a musician I would love to get to be an expert at my instruments and that I can influence other as I perform. I really enjoy working with animals and that any of the animal science is very interesting to me. As for the chef, based on my resume I do enjoy working hands on as a do-er. From the time spent experienced in the working environment I acquire skills such as team work, working with all my co-worker, as well as communication skills. I think I have a good understanding of value, knowing that I have to work hard all the time and that to follow and do whatever need to be done.

From here I would probably focus on science and art such as zoology, music or some form of art. I really like the idea of the zoology and wildlife biology, some occupation of which it interacts with animals. This time I am still a little uncertain if that’s really what I want to spend time on researching but I feels like it’s interesting. Knowing their salary and what the working environment is like, it definitely helps me zone in to what I was looking for. Hopefully I can get some more information at the explore major career day, also as well as the JagBand and my involvement at the music technology club will help me later to determine to what I am interested in. With the Information interview of a profession, this can also be a vector to the understanding to the decision making and requirements needed. To sum up, going to career day, information interview and involving in intramuscular will help me tremendously, but hoping that these steps can get me a lot further.
