IC Project Sunshine: Cards for Kids (4/19/2016) - Before attending this event I was not familiar with Project Sunshine, I was invited to this specific event on Facebook and thought that it was perfect to fulfill my service requirement. I arrived at the event to find not many people, making cards on yellow paper, some with stencils, and some without. As I sat down and began to color I began to ask questions about the entirety of Project Sunshine. Only one person I knew was with me, they are in the club, and gave great explanations. What I gained from this event is that they create baby hats by crocheting or knitting them, as well as making cards to send to kids in hospitals. They explained how they send the stuff to the national organization, than it is distributed from there. Furthermore, they stated that just recently the correspondent with the national organization notified them that their cards were given to a hospital in Tallahassee. Although I thought I was just completing this activity to fulfill a requirement, I would actually like to get involved in this organization in the future.
