9/7/16-Our first assignment is to read through the syllabus for my Language Arts class and sign the attached sheet by tomorrow. 

9/13/16-Tonight you are going to complete your present tense verbs worksheet. This is due tomorrow! 

9/16/16-NO H.W.

9/19/16-Hi all, so here is a list of what I am looking for within the next week (and next Monday.) 

              1) The list of vocabulary words that is taped into your agenda needs to be defined on your K.I.M sheet packets by WED. 

              2) On the very last page of your K.I.M Vocab sheet, you will find the Spelling Practice Worksheet where you will write each of your vocab words down 5 times each-DUE THURS.

              3) Your vocab and spelling quiz will be next Monday 9/26 due to the fact that we will not have school on Friday (Vocab quiz is typically going to be on Fridays.) 

9/27/16-  K.I.M. Vocab is Due tomorrow, Spelling Practice Thursday, and you have your second vocab quiz on Friday.

10/4/16- 1) If you did not get your quiz signed, you need to have a parent or guardian sign it by tomorrow. 

               2) Your K.I.M. packet is due tomorrow (WED)

11/1/16- Happy November!

               This week, you will be completing a free-write or respond to one of the prompts on the "Free-Write/Prompt Week" handout I passed out yesterday (Mon.) You should write for a total of 15-20 mins. There is no minimum or maximum to how much you should be writing, but your effort will be noted! You will write on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

11/2/16- Your third free-write/ prompt is what you should work on tonight. This will be due tomorrow (Thurs.)

11/9/16- Tonight, you are going to create a short story about the drawing assignment you created on Monday. Last night, you should have completed your "My Story Graphic Organizer" on the back of the "Elements of a story sheet." You are going to take what you have written on your outline and create the story. This is going to be our first draft, so it obviously does not need to be flawless.

1) Study your spelling bee list...The in-class spelling bee will be on Wednesday.

2) Get your final Absolutely Almost Project sheet signed by tomorrow.  

3) The second draft of your concrete poem is due Wednesday. This is where you are looking at your "Poem Graphic Organizer" and beginning to turn your topic into the image you wrote on the web about. For example: If you chose a cupacke, then you will take the words of the poem and turn it into a cupcake. NOTE: THIS IS NOT YOUR FINAL DRAFT!

1/12/17-

Tonight you are going to do a drawing prompt where you must do the following:

1) Draw a picture of the topic of choice.

2) Write a story using that object. REMEMBER stories have a beginning, middle and an ending with characters, a setting, and action! Be creative. 

Your choices are: 1) A gingerbread man or a personalized license plate.

1/19/17-

By tomorrow, you should have the final draft of your Concrete Poem completed. Remember, you should have a total of three versions of this. 

1/25/17-

Choose a character and write down some important points from the beginning of the play, the middle of the play and the end of the play on your Character Tracker Sheet. 

2/15/17-

Tonight, you need to re-read the packet that I passed out in class today called "A Midsummer Night's Dream" Character Tracker Assignment. Be thinking about whether or not you want to create a cartoon or do the diary entries. 

2/20/17-

1) The second entry of your diary OR the next two colored cartoons from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is due tomorrow. 
 

2/22/17-

Your 4th Diary Entry or 2 more colored cartoons are due tomorrow (Thurs.) In total, you should have completed 4 diary entries by tomorrow or a total of 9 cartoons. Yes, there may be more than that if you wish. 

3/7/17

1. Plan your costume for the play and bring it in for tomorrow (Wed)

2. Practice your particular lines for the play! 

3/9/17

Costumes! Make sure you have everything for the final three scenes of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for tomorrow.

3/15/17- Read pgs. 7-11 of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by tomorrow. 

3/16/17- Finish reading the last few pages of chapter 2 in "The Adventures of Tom Saywer" by Monday.

3/22/17- Tonight, you are going to do a different assignment on your "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" choice board, for either chapters 5 or 6 (remember we did not have enough time to finish ch. 6 in class, so if you choose this chapter, you should finish reading the final 4 pgs.) 

3/28/17- Choiceboard for Chapter 10 "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" Due tomorrow. (Also, tomorrow is the last day for any missing choice board assignments up to this point! 

4/10/17-Answer questions for chapter 20 due Tuesday. 

4/17/17-Pretend you were in Injun Joe's lair. Describe your experience in 5-8 senteces due Tuesday. 

5/4/17-The FINAL DRAFT of your letter to next year's 5th grade class is due tomorrow, Fri. 5/5

5/11/17-Finish your collage, diary entry, or your comic by tomorrow (Fri)
