Context:
This lesson plan was created under the supervision of Dr. Terry Carrol in GS 4401 in the summer of '08. Students worked in pairs to complete a unit on a Learning Cycle. My partner and I chose to work on the water cyle.
Impact:
Students learned about what it takes to plan a unit on one of the learning cycles in Science. They had to come up with a fun way for their students to learn about a cycle.
Alignment:
Standard 3: Elementary teachers have a broad knowledge and understanding of the major concepts in science. Indicator 1: Teachers have knowledge of basic life science concepts including: Details: Life cycles, mutations, and adaptations Indicator 1 of standard 3 was met because in my lesson plan I had the students learn about the water cycle by doing an activity. They also had a worksheet and an assessment with the activity. Standard 10: Teachers provide active inquiry experiences in the teaching of science by using various questioning skills and developing science processing skills (predicting, classifying, measuring, inferring, interpreting, analyzing, and synthesizing).
