Video Production

Context:

This video was shot at Appalachian State University in Boome for CI3750, Integrating Media and Technology into Teaching class.  We used eqquipments such as video cameras, computers, and video editing program to edit the film.  My Group chose to work on the book Wide Mouth Frog by Keith Faulkner.

Impact:

Students will learn how to use their imaginations to bring a book to life.  Students will learn how to see a movie as they read a story.  This is an important skill because the ability to visualize what one is reading will be useful in memorizing events.

Alignment:

This unit met the following North Carolina Standards for Elementary School Teachers:

NCDPI

Standard I-B:

I met this standard by being able to make this movie.  It shows that I am using technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies.

Standard II-D:

I met this standard by showing my students the technology resources used to make this video and how they can do the same as well.

Standard VI-B:

I met this standard by using a book that students with diverse backgrounds, characteristics, and abillities can understand.  The story we used is good for all students because it is an easy book to understand and it's a very fun book.
