Response to "Teaching and Learning in a Diverse World" This artifact fits the ACEI Standard 1 because while writing the paper, my devlopment grew strongly in the area of diversity. It was the first paper that I strongly addressed diversity, and it shows that I have learned quite a bit about diversity, but still not as much as I need to. It is a stepping stone artifact in my journey to learn how to effectively approach diversity. Also, the book motivated me in a great way to learn more about diversity, and cherish it in my future classroom.

For the ACEI Standard 1, I chose this artifact because after reading the book, "Teaching and Learning in a Diverse World," I felt as though I had learned a lot. This artifact appealed to me because, before reading this book by Patricia G. Ramsey, I had not learned much at all about diversity. And I had learned even less about how to approach it in the best manner so students can learn at their best. I feel that this strengthened my development as a future educator, and it cleared up many fears that I had previously had about teaching in a diverse classroom.

Teaching Philosophy This artifact fits the ACEI Standard 1 because it shows my development in how I view education, and how I wish to teach in my future classroom. It strongly shows that while I have a great deal of knowledge in the area of education, I still have a lot of learning left before I truly know how I will teach my future students. Teaching philosophies are extremely important in educational development because they reflect on your future self, while not forcing your thoughts to be set in stone.

This artifact is extremely important to me because it truly reflects who I am, and who I wish to become. While writing this paper, I felt a sense of passion and excitement, knowing that I will be in a classroom within the next two years, hopefully. I understood while writing the paper that my thoughts may one day change, but it was very rewarding to have my current thoughts be written down on paper, so I can look back and reflect on how much I have learned along the way.
