Standard 3.2 Adaptation to diverse students

Diversity This artifact meets ACEI Standard 3.2, because it is a paper reflecting on what I had learned when a man named Brian Adams came into my SPE 270 class, and talked about his battle with autism, cerebral palsy, and how he is profoundly deaf. The paper reflects on what I learned during the day, and also what my feelings were on teaching children with disabilities. The paper integrated Brian Adam's discussion, with my feelings, and with my plan as a future educator.

This artifact appeals to me because looking back on it, I realize that my feelings about teaching children with disabilities are much different now. At the time of the paper, I was extremely nervous that I may negatively impact students with disabilities with my lack of knowledge. But as time has progressed, I realize I am much more confident now. I am aware thta I have had more classes which have enabled me to know that I have the right resources to positively impact any student that comes into my classroom.
