For grade level 2-4. This project is suitable for any child beginning to learn how to use Microsoft Word and WordArt!
This is a simple, straight forward project that can allow students to become familiar with WordArt. It will enable them to explore through the visual aspects of Microsoft Word, and at the same time, get them thinking about adjectives.
As said before, two goals of this project is to strengthen WordArt skills, and strengthen adjective skills.
This project integrates english with technology. It meets the goals of a responsive teacher because every child has a name, and this allows them to stretch their diverse name by using adjectives.
Visual learners will most likely be attracted to this.
Activating prior knowledge is an instructional strategy in this project, assuming the teacher has already had a lesson on Microsoft Word as well as adjectives.
This is a self-paced project as well as teacher directed. There should be somewhat of a timeline for students to finish, but it is a project expanding their skills so they should not be rushed.
This project is individually based, a group for this project would not work out.
As long as their are no gramatical errors, students will be free to express themselves as they please. Therefore, the grading scale should not be too harsh.
Annotation (Publisher):
The project I created for publisher is a calendar. Therefore, it is not a project for students, just a sheet to take home. I made sure I typed out all of the important dates throughout the month. I also made sure I created a clear snack list. Therefore, both the children and their families will be able to understand what is going on throughout the month. I made sure I demonstrated my computer skills by using various fonts, backgrounds, and clip art.
