MAIN AVENUE BRIDGE

The Main Avenue has been modified to accommodate the gradually rising approaches to the new bridge. The people that’s responsible for making sure that this project is right and done correctly is the city of Sacramento there leader. The bridge will cost up to 23 million dollars and the federal funding will help them with about 80% of the 23 million.

The reason why the Old Main Avenue Bridge was replaced with a new one was because that bridge only had two lanes and people couldn’t get where they needed to go. That bridge was built in 1938. The other reason why  the bridge was replaced because of the deteriorating condition, such as fires, damages and recurrent closures caused by flooding. Also the bridge was too narrow to handle the project in the future traffic demand.

To build the Main Avenue Bridge it took to the beginning of 2005 to the end of 2006. Most work was taking place in the dry months, by installing (the sidewalks. Bike lanes, street lights, and  etc).There’s a database of 27,671 historic bridges in the United States of America, from the (past and present). In 2009 the preview, and in 2008 there were good riddance. There also were many historic bridges lost last year of 2007 “they said”. The bridges were lost by fires the (Dewey  Suspension Bridge) and tornadoes the (Moscow Covered Bridge) and ice jams, and enormous floods.
