Electronic Dance Music

Sargassum

Electronic Dance Music covers a great diversity of musical genres and substyles. Except as indicated, all of the pieces here have been created within Propellerheads' Reason 4.0 software, an inexpensive synthesis, sampling, & audio mixing platform for the Mac and PC. I teach this platform in two courses, MTEC-310, Advanced Computer Applications & MIDI, and MTEC-315, Electronic Music Synthesis and it has become the principal tool used in my own composition.

60W 30N -20ft

60W 30N -20ft. imagines life under water, in middle of the Saragasso Sea. The water is calm and sunny, and swirling with life. Every sound you hear is heavily filtered: soft, warm and sensuous. In the bridge, we momentarily surface for a breath of air and slowly descend again.

Technorama

Technorama is a techno piece created in Reason 4.0 focused around the use of a vocal sample and formant processing.
