Course Description
The workshop stresses the importance of providing young learners with strategies to promote listening and verbal skills. Participants will acquire knowledge how to introduce various emergent literacy strategies that may be immediately implemented in an early learning environment to support children's oral language and brain development. Current research shows that 34 percent of American children entering kindergarten today lack the basic language skills they will need to learn to read. Within the class, educators will realize how they must respond to the literacy needs of children through creative engagement.
