Course Description
The workshop provides insight concerning families and children who live in poverty.  The intention of the course is to inspire educators to become change agents in the lives of children who must be given quality early learning experiences in effort to break the cycle of poverty.  The participant will define the meaning of poverty based on the federal guidelines and will be able to explain how poverty impacts American children and families.  Participant will analyze a case study, view a video presentation and read current articles.  Once the course is completed, the educator will understand the role of providing every child with the best early educational opportunities.  Online discussions with the facilitator will guide the participant to meet the class objectives.
