Today I learned about the History Of Light and The Allegory of the Cave.The Allegory of the Cave talks about Plato (427-347 B.C),who is a philosopher.

Fascinating Facts about Edison

Thomas Edison was known for inventing numerous useful devices including an electric light bulb and phonograph.In 1891 Edison and his employee William Dickson invented a device called kinetoscope which produces breif motion pictures.Edison worked for the Navy during World War I improving submarines and flamethrowers.At the age of ten he created his first science laboratory in his basement .

Reflection 4-28-09

Today I learned the introduction to the power of light and color.When you calculate lumens you give much more weight to the yellow portion of the spectrum and much less weight to the blue and red regions.Three examples of radiation are energy,shape and color. I also learned that a catrgory of electromagnetic radition emitted by a surface that is warm or hot dependent primarily on the surface temperature is Black Body Radiation. I learned the equation for general (Non-Isotropic) Source and how to perceive a color.Th Munsell Color System was another thing i learned today .Which are hue-color sensation,Chroma-saturation level and value-lightness.

Chroma-Intensity,indicates the brightness or dullness of a color.

Hue-The name by which we identify a color.

Achromatic-If none of the areas have any hue.

Split Complements-when complements are split ,the possibilites for contrast are expanded while the inherent compatibility is retained.

The Cross and Flames

I've choosen this image because I thought the flames that were rising off the cross was caused by people who didn't believe in christ. Many Americans believed that the cross engulfed with flames were caused by the Klans and how they thought it represented ritualized intimidation.
