Artifact 10 - Highlight Goals and Objectives for Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

 

Course Objectives Building Trades I:

Students will complete the CORE CURRICULUM “Introductory Craft Skills.” This course will prepare students to take the Building Trades Core Credentialing Exam for Industry Certification Credit.

The course will include:

                                                    Basic Safety                                                          

                                                    Introduction to Construction Math

                                                    Introduction to Hand Tools                                

                                                    Introduction to Power Tools

                                                    Introduction to Construction Drawings            

                                                    Basic Rigging

                                                    Basic Communication Skills                            

                                                    Basic Employability Skills

                                                    Introduction to Material Handling        

 

Course Objectives Building Trades II:

Students will continue with the objectives of Building Trades I  through actual construction projects at CCHS or in the community. This training will simulate the expectations of employers and the workplace environment.

 

Course Objectives Building Trades III:   

Students will continue with the objectives of Building Trades I & II through actual construction projects at CCHS or in the community. This training will simulate the expectations of employers and the work place environment. These students will demonstrate problem-solving and leadership skills while working on secondary and post secondary levels.
