In the Spring of 2009 I took an event planning course. For my final project, I was required to plan my own event and present it to the class. Snowboarding has become one of my passions, so I decided to use it as a basis for my event. I created an event called Echodemic, which was a snowboard competition and concert all rolled into one. In my business plan I outlined the event's location, logistics, sponsors, schedule, staffing, risk management, budgeting, and a marketing and advertising plan. This project showed me how much work goes into the event planning process and allowed me to showcase my planning and organizing skills.
