Assistantship
The Assistantship field experience course (ELED 307: Teaching Assistantship) occurs during Assistantship semester. During this field experience, candidates complete 15 days in the classroom, working with a partner and their mentor teacher. During the Assistantship, candidates are expected to observe and collaborate with their partner and the mentor teacher in the design and teaching of a week-long instructional module. Candidates will also be expected to design and teach several content lessons in conjunction with the methods courses in the Assistantship semester. A university supervisor will observe the partnership on at least one occasion. Other field-based course assignments will be identified and described in the Block I courses.
