3.14.1 Publication of accreditation status

A member or candidate institution represents its accredited status accurately and publishes the name, address, and telephone number of the Commission in accordance with Commission requirements and federal policy. (Publication of accreditation status)

Compliance Status

Louisiana State University and A&M College is in compliance with this principle.

Narrative

Louisiana State University and A&M College (LSU) is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Accordingly, the University publishes the address and telephone number of the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, its primary regional accreditor. In doing so, the University uses the specific language approved by the Commission on Colleges in accordance with Commission requirements and federal requirements:

Louisiana State University and A&M College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of Louisiana State University and A&M College.

The SACSCOC accreditation status is published on the LSU Regional Accreditation Web page [1].The purpose for publication of commission access, along with contact numbers, is specified to enable interested constituents

(1) To learn about the accreditation status of LSU;

(2) To file a third-party comment at the time of LSU’s decennial review; or

(3) To file a third-party complaint against LSU for alleged non-compliance with a standard requirement of the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. 

The accreditation statement published on the LSU Regional Accreditation Web page also serves to communicate the specific language approved by the commission for use by all university units in all print and electronic publications, including Websites.

The SACSOC accreditation status is further published in a variety of LSU documents including the following:
