Compliance Status

Louisiana State University and A&M College is in compliance with this principle.

Narrative

The federal financial aid programs at Louisiana State University and A&M College (LSU) are included in the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards [1].  The Office of the Louisiana Legislative Auditor performs an annual audit each fiscal year.  Upon completion of the audit, the Louisiana Legislative Auditor provides a compliance report on requirements applicable to each major program and internal control over compliance in accordance with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-133.  The most recent audit information includes the following:

  • FY 2012 single audit report for the State of Louisiana [2]
  • FY 2012 management letter [3]
  • FY 2012 A-133 audit letter for LSU [4]
  • FY 2011 single audit report for the state of Louisiana [5]
  • FY 2011 management letter [6]
  • FY 2011 A-133 audit letter for LSU [7]
  • FY 2010 single audit report for the state of Louisiana [8]
  • FY 2010 management letter [9]
  • FY 2010 A-133 audit letter for LSU [10].

The OMB A-133 audits for the last two years have disclosed no findings for federal financial aid for Louisiana State University, and there were no significant deficiencies in internal control over compliance applicable to major federal award programs. The audit for 2013 will not be ready at the time of submission of the compliance report but is expected prior to the visit of the SACSCOC on-site committee [11].

Various aspects of auditing and financial resources are also addressed in Core Requirement 2.11.1, Comprehensive Standards 3.10.1, 3.10.3 and 3.10.4, and Federal Requirement 4.7.
