Steps to a Front Page article (how you will be evaluated.)
Article requirements:

1-2 pages long, typed, double spaced, 12 pt font.

You will need a bibliography page to list your sources.

Sources: List all of the internet sites your editor provided for you that you used and find at least two more sites on your own that are not on the list.

No title page is necessary for a newspaper article.

Watch your grammar, vocabulary, and spelling.

Organize your thoughts!

Don’t express your opinion!

The article is written to inform your readers as accurately as possible about your topic. Use Historical evidence to support your article’s thesis.

Provide your readers with interesting visuals to support your articles: photos, drawings, maps, etc.
Remember that your readers know nothing about Imperialism or your topic!
So make sure to include the following:
Questions to answer:

Provide a clear definition of Imperialism and its causes.

Provide a clear definition of Nationalism and its causes.

What role did your topic play in Imperialism and/or Nationalism?

In regarding your topic: who were the Imperialists and who were the nationalists?

What were their viewpoints about the situation?

How did imperialism affect the dominated peoples?
Both positive and negative.

How did it help the Imperialists? What did they hope to gain from controlling this country?

What effects did your topic have on world history? Meaning: why is it important for your readers to know about it?
You will evaluated on how well you research and answer the above questions, as well as on how well you follow the directions above.
